UAE RCS sends relief assistance to Sudan flood victims

Khartoum - Seven trucks carrying 90 tonnes of UAE Red Crescent Society's, RCS, relief supplies proceeded today from Khartoum to Kassala to distribute these relief assistance to the victims of the flood-hit city of Kassala. Mohammed Habroush Al Rumaithy, Head of the UAE RCS team to Khartoum, said the gesture comes in line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to offer urgent relief supplies to the victims of the flood in Kassala. The land convoy, which is also in response to the instruction of Sheikh Hamdanbin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and UAE RCS Chairman is carrying large quantities of foodstuff, flour, rice edible oil and sugar.
