UAE RCS sponsors more than 33000 orphans abroad

The UAE Red Crescent Society's, RCS, humanitarian programmes witnesses remarkable progress in the field of taking care and sponsoring orphans as well as offering financial assistance to the orphans and their families inside the country and abroad.

The UAE RCS benevolent efforts continue to achieve more success alleviating the sufferings of this category of people inside the country as well as in a number of brotherly and friendly countries.

The sponsored orphans inside the country by the UAE RCS reached 3056, while those sponsored by the UAE RCS abroad from January to September 2005 totalled 33758 in a number of Arab and Islamic countries at the cost of Dh 43,252000.

Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, RCS Board Chairman underlined the UAR RCS commitment to carry out its humanitarian mission towards sponsored orphans through a number of philanthropists in the country in a bid to become a source of dependence for thousands of orphans in several areas, which witnessed human disasters and catastrophes, noting that the UAE RCS keenness to ease the sufferings of these orphans who were deprived of their families affection and care as a result of different reasons.
