A Plane load of relief supplies from the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, will leave Abu Dhabi today as part of the UAE RCS air bridge to ease sufferings of the Afghan people. Another UAE RCS plane will leave here on Wednesday to Afghanistan. The two planes will carry 56 tones of various food stuff in order to improve the living conditions of the disaster-hit population. San'a Darwish Al Kitbi, RCS Secretary General said that the initiative is within the UAE RCS humanitarian programmes since 2001 to alleviate suffering of the Afghan people in line with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Premier, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and RCS Chairman, who closely supervise implementation of this humanitarian programme.
