The UAE Red Crescent Society yesterday distributed thousands of food parcels to the survivors of the Palestinian refugee camps of Jenin and Nabuls devastated by the Israeli army in its recent aggression against the Palestinian people. Sheikh Najih Bakirat, Deputy Chairman of the UAE Friends Society in Palestine, who accompanied the humanitarian supplies said that 3000 parcels of foodstuff were delivered to families in Jenin and 3000 others to families in Nabuls.

He said that the UAE Red Crescent Society's caravan was one the first humanitarian organisations to reach the camps. He added that the families expressed their gratitude to the UAE under the leadership of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for its continued assistance to the Palestinian people. Bakirat said that the UAE humanitarian relief caravan was held for seven hours at the outskirts of Jerusalem by Israeli forces before allowing it to proceed after a vigorous search.
