The medical team of the UAE Red Crescent currently stationed in Pakistan continues to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to the inhabitants of Sheikh Abad as part of its humanitarian operations in the flood-hit regions in that country.

Equipped with large quantities of therapeutic drugs and medical supplies to strengthen the functions of medical teams, the RCA volunteers, who included medics and Para medics with field experience worked day and night to help people suffering from diseases in the aftermath of Pakistan's worst natural disaster in the contemporary history.

UAE's Red Crescent Authority (RCA) arrived in Pakistan as soon as the disaster struck to provide humanitarian assistance and alleviate the sufferings of the flood victims.

RCA's mobile medical team set up field hospital and clinics in Sheikh Abad to receive patients. A local philanthropist in Pakistan gave his mansion for converting it to a temporary hospital, a gesture which drew wide acclaim from the people.

Sheer Alam, a flood victim living in the village said that RCA is the first medical mission who arrived in the region for relief operations and the RCA presence on ground gave them confidence and sense of security. This in turn has earned the RCA the love and respect of the inhabitants in the region. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
