Manama - Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum toured yesterday the Arabian Gulf University as part of his current trip to Bahrain.

Sheikh Mohammed, who was accompanied by HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain, and a number of Sheikhs and top officials, visited different units of the University and attended part of a discussion circle about his book 'My Vision'. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of continuous training and drawing lessons from experiences of others through learning and career life so as to become creative and prominent.

Sheikh Mohammed graced a graduation ceremony for 600 graduates from the faculty of medicine and post-graduate college. The University is also marking its silver Jubilee.

Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Mohammed urged the graduates to always be optimistic to achieve success and seize opportunities. 'Knowledge should go hand in hand with work, experience and experiment as science without know-how will not alone help man to achieve his aspirations and objectives,' Sheikh Mohammed remarked.

'Spearheaded by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has taken giant leap in the investment of education,' he said, adding that what had been achieved in Dubai is the tip of the iceberg and a lot of surprises are on the store. He announced that Arabian Gulf University graduates were welcomed to the Mohammed bin Rashid Foundation to pursue their post-graduate studies in arts and science streams. 'The UAE also opens its arms to graduates who would like to join UAE labour market,' he added. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
