UAE and Micronesia establish full diplomatic relations

UN, New York, 14th September, 2016 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates and the Federated States of Micronesia have signed a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries at ambassadorial level in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 18th April, 1961. The communique was signed on Thursday, 8th September.

The signing ceremony took place at the premises of the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations in New York, where Lana Nusseibeh, Ambassador and United Arab Emirates Permanent Representative to the United Nations, signed the communique on behalf of the UAE. Jane J. Chigiyal, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Federated States of Micronesia to the United Nations, signed the communique on behalf of her government.
