UAE and Yemen agree to boost economic ties

President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and visiting Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh held a round of talks yesterday at Al Mushrif Palace. Sheikh Khalifa welcomed the Yemeni leader and wished him pleasant stay during his visit to the UAE.



He also expressed satisfaction at the levels of brotherly ties between the two countries, saying that UAE was keen to further enhance cooperation with Yemen in economic, commercial and investment fields.



The two leaders reviewed ways to bolster bilateral ties. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of concern to the two countries, particularly security and political developments in the Middle East.



Sheikh Khalifa and President Saleh renewed support to all international efforts aimed at finding solutions and reviving the peace process in the region.



President Saleh said he was glad to visit UAE and meet with Sheikh Khalifa. He added that the visit comes in a time when ties between the two countries is witnessing tremendous progress in all spheres. He praised the progress attained by the UAE, thanks to the wise leadership of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.



President Saleh noted that Yemen was looking forward to become a trade partner of the UAE and that his country is heading towards promoting investments and encouraging public - private partnerships. He pointed out that the pledge made recently by the UAE during the donors conference for Yemen's development projects reflects Sheikh Khalifa's keenness to boost partnership between Yemen and UAE.



He thanked the leadership and people of the UAE for the continuous support to Yemen. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
