Baghdad: The United Arab Emirates has urged the international community to exert more efforts towards eradicating extremism.

Fares Al Mazrouei, UAE's Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs, who is heading the country's delegation to the Counter-terrorism conference in Baghdad, said in a speech yesterday that the international community was still witnessing growing forms of terrorism and organised crime.

"The UAE believes that the motives of extremism and terrorism are not linked to a certain ethnicity, culture or belief and renews through this gathering its condemnation of terrorism," he added.

Al Mazrouei expressed the hope that the conference will arrive at tangible outcomes to further strengthen efforts to fight terrorism in all its forms. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
