UAE condemns terrorist act against Baghdad church

The UAE yesterday vehemently condemned the brutal terrorist act which targeted the Lady of Salvation Church in Baghdad on Sunday, leaving tens of innocent dead and wounded.

Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said 'The UAE condemns in the strongest terms this heinous criminal act which killed and wounded tens of innocent civilians of the brotherly Iraqi people in a worshipping house.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed the UAE's solidarity with the Iraq and its support for its efforts to confront this horrible tragedy.

Sheikh Abdullah offered heart-felt condolences of the leadership, government and people of the UAE to the Iraqi leadership, people and families of the victims and wished speedy recovery to those injured. 'Again, these criminal acts underscore the urgency of a concerted and effective international efforts to combat terrorism and eradicate its roots whatever its sources and motives,'the UAE foreign minister affirmed. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
