Beirut - Two UAE Air Force planes landed here yesterday as part of an air bridge to deliver relief assistance to the Lebanese people. The gesture was in line with the directives of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two planes delivered 30 tons of relief items, including medicine and food items, to Caritas Lebanon, a non-governmental organisation, for distribution to various centres for persons displaced by the Israeli aggression.

Another planeload of relief supplies is expected to land here within the next 24 hours. So far, the UAE has delivered 300 tons of relief assistance for distribution to the affected people, in collaboration with Lebanon's Higher Relief Authority and Ministry of Health. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
