Islamabad - The team of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, presently carrying relief and medical aid operations in Balakot have set up four water purification plants in the earthquake-hit Balakot and Muzaffarbad, to ensure clean water supply, the UAE Ambassador in Islamabad Ali Mohammed Al-Shamsi said today.

Each of the plant will purify 10,000 gallons of drinking water for the quake survivors. Three plants have been set up in Balakot and the fourth has been installed in Muzaffarabad. He added that the UAE team has made arrangements to carry out maintenance of all the plants regularly through a UAE technical team.

Ambassador Al Shamsi said the lack of clean drinking water has been one of the major problems in the quake-affected areas as the devastating earthquake also badly hit the water supply system. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
