UAE despatches relief supplies to Afghan refugees

Abu Dhabi (WAM) The first plane loaded with 40 tons of supplies left today for Iran as part of UAE airlift of relief supplies organised by the UAE Red Crescent Society that will be distributed to Afghan refugees. A delegation from the society led by Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi left on the plane to get acquainted with the situation of refugees and their needs with the co-ordination and collaboration of the Iranian Red Crescent Society.



The airlift is in implementation of the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the follow up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and RCS President, to send urgent assistance to Afghan refugees.
