UAE embassy in Tripoli re-opened

UAE Ambassador to Libya Sultan Rashid Al Kaytoub yesterday opened the UAE embassy in Tripoli, in presence of Abdul Karim Bazma, Secretary of the Libyan National Transitional Council '&' National Security Advisor. Also presents were the heads of diplomatic missions accredited by Tripoli and Salem Ibrahim Al Naqbi, 1st Secretary at the UAE embassy.

In a speech delivered after the opening, Al Kaytoub congratulated the Libyan people on the liberation of Libya and conveyed greetings of the UAE people to their brothers in Libya. He referred to the role played by the UAE diplomacy, led by Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the support offered by the UAE to the National Security Council's resolutions 1970 1nd 1973, as well as the country's active participation, along with the NATO forces, in liberating Libya.

Al Kaytoub praised the progressive ties between the UAE and Libya. He extended greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and to Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates on the UAE's 40th national day anniversary. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
