Beijing - UAE Ambassador to China Omar Al Bitar has taken delivery of a painting of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan from Wu Sike, Chinese special envoy on the Middle East, on behalf of the Global Commercial District (GBD) Public Diplomacy Cultural Exchange Centre.

The portrait is drawn by the famous contemporary Chinese brush artist Chin Sung on rice paper using traditional Chinese ink and colours. The traditional Chinese indelible ink - used in the painting - can stand the test of time for more than 1000 year.

The presentation of the art work comes on the eve of the upcoming state visit by Wen Jiabao, Premier and Party secretary of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, to the UAE on mid-January and signifies the depth of the growing distinguished bonds between the UAE and China and their friendly peoples.

The UAE envoy highly appreciated the noble feeling held by the Chinese people and government to the people and government of the UAE. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
