Brussels: Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Cooperation, has voiced the UAE's support for the unity of Mali and its full sovereignty over its territories.

Addressing the International donors meeting on Mali in Brussels, Sheikha Lubna also expressed the UAE's full solidarity with the people of Mali in order to face the current challenges.

Sheikh Lubna said the UAE was ready to help Mali building its national capacities in various field and address political, humanitarian, security and developmental aspects of the financial crisis there.

UAE officials visited Mali in March to assess urgent humanitarian and basic needs of the Malian people.

Wednesday's conference in Brussels was co-hosted by the European Union and French President Francois Hollande, with more than 100 delegations in attendance and it aimed at raising donations to fund a plan Malian officials hope will successfully turn their country into a stable democracy. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
