Islamabad - The UAE Armed Forces' field hospital continued to provide treatment to the injured people in the Pakistani city of Bala Kott, following the devastating earthquake which struck the area. Ali Mohammed Al Shamis, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, said the hospital receives about 500 cases a day in the average where UAE doctors, aided by 35 nurses, conduct emergency surgeries.

He added that several Pakistani officials visited the hospital and got themselves acquainted with the facilities available at the hospital, including a modern laboratory, operation theatre and X-Ray room at the hospital. A helicopter was brought in from the UAE to help in evacuation of the injured people to the hospital.

"On the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, an air bridge was established with four flights a day carrying 160 tons of foodstuff, medicines, blankets and tents to aid the affected people in the quake-hit areas," Al Shamsi said.
