Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan has renewed the United Arab Emirates' firm stand behind the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Addressing a charity dinner organised last night by the Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) organisation in collaboration with the Palestinian Business Council in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Nahyan said UAE's policies, alliances and initiatives underpin its commitment to help establishing an independent Palestinian state and contributing to the efforts of securing a life of hope, freedom, dignity, progress and prosperity to all Palestinians.

Present at the event were Palestinian Ambassador Khairy Al Aridi, Jordanian Ambassador Nayef Al Zaidan, British Ambassador Dominic Jeremy, MAP Chairman Robin Kealy, businessmen and members of the Palestinian community. Sheikh Nahyan praised the initiatives of MAP to provide all forms of aid to the Palestinian people suffering killing, torture, displacement, imprisonment and demolition of houses. He urged support to MAP and to all organisations active in providing assistance to the Palestinian people. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
