'Our human responsibility towards our brethren in Palestine goes beyond seasonal relief operations to implementation of ambitious projects for rehabilitation of devastated infrastructure such as reconstruction of the Jenin refugee camp,' said Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, in remarks published by the Red Crescent Society (RCS) magazine.

The magazine's issue was dedicated to the Palestinian cause Sheikh Zayed has ordered the RCS to reconstruct 800 houses in Jenin, to sponsor 5,000 Palestinian children and repair the Church of Nativity and the Omar ibn Al Khatab Mosque. ' The mass genodice war unleashed by Israel against the Palestinians has prompt us to act immediately and extend help to them,' said Sheikh Hamdan, who is also President of the RCS. Assistance offered by the RCS to Palestinians since October 2000 up to now were valued at Dh 275 million, which included medical supplies and equipment, food aid, money to martyrs' families and repairing of health, educational and religious facilities.
