UAE honours Afghan women

In line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the President's Wife and President of the UAE General Women's Union, GWU, and under close supervision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, the UAE Embassy in Afghanistan has honoured 260 working Afghan women in the interim Afghan government on the occasion of the World Woman Day, WWD. Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan told the Emirates News Agency correspondent in Islam Abad that the UAE Embassy sponsored the celebrations on the WWD in Kabul and the Representative of the embassy gave out presents to 260 Afghan workingwomen in various ministries. The ceremony which was attended by the Afghan Central Bank Governor, Minister of Health and Minister of Environment, comes in the framework of supporting the Afghan government to enable it to achieve stability and security to Afghan people, as well as encouraging the Afghan women to play their role effectively in all fields.
