Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has said that the UAE was playing a significant role in support of humanitarian issues affecting people in various parts of the world and that his country was exerting great efforts to peacefully end the conflicts in the flashpoint areas of the world. He attributed the wise policy to the wisdom and visionary approach of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

"The UAE has adopted a number of initiatives in this regard based on the country's belief that violence breeds violence, destruction, loss of human dignity and spread of distress among mankind,” Sheikh Hamdan, who is also the Chairman of the UAE Red crescent Society, RCS, said in a statement carried by the new issue of the "Al Hilal” magazine of the RCS, adding that Sheikh Zayed's wisdom has spread beyond the country's borders through a number of his initiatives which call for ending of fighting and wars and the upholding of dialogue as means of resolving differences to avert human tragedy and its negative consequences.

He said under the banner of the RCS, a chain of convoy of humanitarian assistance had been dispatched to people in distress in various parts of the world in an effort to help alleviate the sufferings of those people and put back some smile on their face. Sheikh Hamdan expressed pride on and appreciation for the noble stances of the UAE government and people towards the humanitarian issues of people in other parts of the world and for their continuous positive response to the plight of people in distress.
