President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has emphasised that the UAE would spare no effort to push the UAE-Saudi ties forward for the best interest of the two brotherly peoples.

'Our visit to Saudi Arabia comes within the context of the UAE keenness to keep in touch with leaders of this brotherly country ..... it reflects our respect for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia and other Saudi leaders,' Sheikh Khalifa said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the occasion of his trip to Saudi Arabia. Sheikh Khalifa praised the astonishing progress and achievements made by Saudi Arabia.

'We hope that our talks with Saudi leaders will further strengthen bilateral relations for the best interest of the two brotherly peoples under the umbrella of the GCC and the advancement of our Arab and Islamic causes,' Sheikh Khalifa added.

He added that his talks with Saudi leaders would touch on the latest regional and international developments with emphasis on Iraq and Palestine, coordination of efforts in the fight against terrorism, and issues of common concern.

'We seize this opportunity to renew our condemnation of the terrorist attacks which hit Saudi Arabia recently and voice our firm support for Riyadh in its fight against terrorism .......we put the UAE resources at the disposal of our brethren in Saudi Arabia to help them eradicate these crimes and their perpetrators from the society,' he affirmed.
