UAE joins treaty on preventing and punishing crimes

The United Arab Emirates has informed the United Nations yesterday that it has joined the treaty on preventing and punishing crimes against people covered by international protection, including diplomatic representatives. In an official note sent to Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General, the Acting Charge d' Affaires for the UAE Permanent Representative to the UN, Abdullah Khamis Al Hassaan Al Shamsi, submitted the document of the country's joining the treaty in line with the instructions of the UAE Foreign Ministry, in order to be submitted to the UN.
