Four plane-load of relief consignment will be sent to Pakistan tomorrow as part of the UAE Red Crescent Society's air bridge to aid people affected by the earthquake there. Saleh Mohammed Al Mulla, RCS's Deputy Secretary General for Relief and Projects, said the items to be sent include foodstuff, clothes, blankets and sheltering materials.

Meanwhile, Ali Mohammed Hammad Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, has discussed with Pakistani officials in Islamabad requirements of next steps for reconstruction of quake-hit areas as well as coordinating international efforts to guarantee efficient relief operations. During his meeting with Lt. General Zubair, Chairman of Pakistan's Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority, Al Shamsi urged allocation of sites for infrastructure projects in the quake-hit areas. He revealed that the UAE is willing to construct a modern hospital in Muzaffarabad. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
