UAE partakes in Arab League anti-terror meeting

CAIRO: The UAE has participated in the 17th meeting of the Arab League's Counter-Terrorism Team of Experts which was held at the pan-Arab organisation's headquarters in the presence of representatives of counter-terrorism agencies of member countries.

The UAE delegation to the meeting is led by Mahash Al Hameli, Director of Security and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The UAE delegation includes Ali Abdullah Al Shamsi, Mohammed Abdul Rehman Al Zaabi, who represent the Ministry of Interior, and Ali Al Shamili, Director of Arab League Affairs at the UAE Embassy in Cairo.

In his opening speech, the head of the Arab League's Counter-Terrorism Team of Experts, Ahmed Mustafa, emphasised that the Arab region is going through unprecedented challenges including an increasing number of terrorist acts and the existence of violent and terrorist organisations such as ISIL (Daesh) that are harming all people. – Emirates News Agency, WAM –
