UAE participates in UNESCO's meeting on 'Malala'

The UAE has participated in a high level advocacy event held at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Paris Headquarters under the theme '"Stand up for Malala -- Girls' education is a right!" Organized by UNESCO and the Government of Pakistan, it aimed to accelerate political action to ensure every girl's right to go to school, and to advance girls' education as an urgent priority.

Dr. Maytha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State led the state delegation which included UAE Ambassador to France, Mohammed Mir Abdullah Al Raisi in addition to the UAE permanent delegation to UNESCO.

Al Shamsi addressing the meeting, conveyed UAE's greetings and support for the 'Education for All' objective and stressed that her country has also adopted the UN Secretary-General initiative "Education First". – Emirates News Agency, WAM
