UAE project for reconstruction of Lebanon builds, facelifts 268 schools

Beirut - The UAE project for reconstruction of Lebanon has announced completion of rebuilding and face-lifting 268 schools damaged during the Israeli aggression on Lebanon in 2006.

This was announced at a press conference held here today at the Lebanese Ministry of Education in presence of the Lebanese Minister of Education, Dr. Khalid Qabani, Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi, UAE ambassador to Lebanon and Abdullah Khalifa Al Ghafli, director of information at the project.

Al Suwaidi said "the reconstruction project followed instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and follow up of General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces".

He added that the UAE assistance to Lebanese people stems from "spirit of love, brotherhood and solidarity". (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
