UAE role in Yemen delivers great lesson in solidarity: UAE daily

The historic and supportive stance of the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, towards Yemen and its people reinforces the fact that the UAE will never lag behind when it comes to advancing genuine Arab causes and rights.

As His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, made it clear, ‘'What the UAE is doing under the umbrella of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition to support Yemen and its people springs from deep conviction of the vital importance of the joint Arab solidarity and co-operation to protect the Arab region from foreign ambitions, risks and interventions into its internal affairs, and to stand with full force against any attempt to undermine its security and stability."

President of Yemen Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi echoes the sentiments of all peace-loving people when he says that the sacrifices from the UAE people will remain engraved in the hearts of the Yemeni people and the role the UAE is playing in this phase would be remembered throughout history.

"The blend of Emirati blood with that of Yemeni one on Yemeni soil delivers a great lesson of solidarity and co-operation among fellow people and exemplifies the common Arab destiny," as President Hadi appropriately put it.

"The humanitarian challenges in the light of liberation of Aden from the clutches of the Houthi militias and their allies are huge," said UAE local English language daily's editorial on Friday.

In this regard, it is heartening that the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has already sent a relief ship loaded with 4,000 tonnes of food and rations to Yemen to help alleviate the suffering of the brotherly people of the Arab republic.

It should be noted that the Khalifa Foundation has been active in delivering humanitarian aid, food and medical supplies by air and sea routes to the people in Yemen since the start of the crisis.

The Gulf Today's editorial added, "The people of Yemen have a right to enjoy security, stability and progress so as to pursue the path towards development. The UAE's contribution and support of the UAE people for Yemen's stability is highly commendable."

As Sheikh Mohamed correctly pointed out that he current victories in Yemen send a strong message about an Arab world that will never accept to see its land and honour be compromised and whose loyal people stand as an impregnable fortress to defend its sanctity. – Emirates News Agency, WAM -
