The UAE's eighth aid convoy for Syrian refugees left Abu Dhabi on Monday for Jordanian capital, Amman, as part of its massive assistance programme in the Emirati-Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees.

Fahad Abdul Rahman Sultan, acting Deputy Secretary General of UAE Red Crescent Authority for International Aid, said the latest relief assistance aims to boost the camp's capacities in areas of shelter, food and other essential services the Syrian refugees need for the time being.

'The RCA is monitoring the unfolding humanitarian developments for the Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon and is mobilising its relief resources and mechanisms to reach the largest possible number of refugees in these two host countries,' he said, affirming that the RCA would pursue its humanitarian operations to improve their living conditions and alleviate their sufferings. – Emirates New Agency, WAM
