The UAE is to send urgent aid to bereaved Palestinian families who have lost their love ones, and had their houses flattened in an Israeli air strike on a Gaza neigbourhood that left 15 people dead , including nine toddlers on Monday. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS), yesterday ordered the humanitarian organisation to urgently provide shelter and other sorts of badly needed assistance to Palestinian families whose houses had been turned into rubbles by the heinous Israeli F-16 attack on a densely populated area.

In prompt implementation of Sheikh Hamdan's orders, the RCS has directed its office in Gaza to provide shelter for 16 families, in addition to cartering for their needs for six months. Sixteen flats have been rented and furnished to accommodate the families. The RCS also distributed food supplies as well as other relief items to the needy. Sheikh Hamdan's orders are part of a sustained UAE effort to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, who are subjected to worst forms of human right violations, including heinous killings of defenceless civilians and destruction of houses.
