UAE signs MoU with Afghanistan on coordination of RCS work

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with Afghanistan's Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on the co-ordination of arrangements to guarantee the smooth flow of the UAE Red Crescent Society's work in Afghanistan. Receiving Dr. Abdullah at Al Buttain Palace, Sheikh Hamdan affirmed the readiness of the UAE to contribute to the efforts being exerted toward establishing stability in Afghanistan. He also expressed the UAE's support for the UN's efforts for the



reconstruction of Afghanistan. The two sides reviewed bilateral ties, the efforts for the reconstruction of Afghanistan and the UAE Red Crescent's role in helping the Afghani people. Dr. Abdullah lauded the support and assistance provided by the UAE to Afghanistan through the RCS, expressing the gratitude of the Afghani people for President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Present at the meeting was Rashiddudin Mohammadi, Afghani Charge d'Affaires. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
