UAE signs defence contracts worth Dh4 billion at IDEX

The UAE has signed defence contracts in the tune of Dh4 billion on the third day of the 10th International Defence Conference and Exhibition (IDEX 2011), IDEX Spokesperson Major General Obaid Al Ketbi announced today.

'Emiraje System won a contract valued at US$550 million for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I)' Al Ketbi said.

France's Nexter Systems was awarded a Dh423 million deal for technical support for LeClerc tank.

French Dassault Aviation bagged a contract worth Dh112.4 million for upgrading weapon systems of the Mirage 2000.

'The UAE Armed Forces also signed a contract with UAE's I.G.G at Dh392.6 million for purchase and supply of assorted weapons and ammunitions as well as Global Positioning Systems, Al Ketbi added.
