UAE stands by Bahrain: Khalifa

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a meeting yesterday with the King of Bahrain His Majesty Hamad Bin Eissa Al Khalifa, who is currently on a visit to the UAE.

Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE armed forces General His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the meeting. At the beginning, the President welcomed the Bahraini monarch and wished him and his accompanying delegation, a pleasant stay in the UAE.

The President reiterated that the UAE will continue to stand beside Bahrain, contributing to strengthening its security and stability. The President also expressed hope that Bahrain will witness more progress and prosperity.

The Bahraini monarch expressed happiness over the opportunity in visiting his second home country and meeting President Sheikh Khalifa. He also expressed pride and gratitude for the UAE's stance and its continuing support to Bahrain for achieving stability and development for the prosperity of the people.

During the meeting they reviewed the fraternal ties between UAE and Bahrain, and pondered over ways to strengthen the relations on various fronts. They also exchanged views on a number of issues and current developments on the regional and the international levels.

The King of Bahrain later issued a statement, in which he said: Being in our sister country the United Arab Emirates, we are happy to express deep gratitude to our beloved brother His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to his government and its brotherly people for their sincere feelings of fraternity and noble stance which have reinforced the brotherly bond between two nations sharing the same history like two families. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
