The UAE balloon team is taking part in the Canberra International Balloon Fiesta — the biggest international gathering of local and international balloon teams. Captain Abdulaziz Nassir, head of the Emirates balloon team, said that the participation of the team comes under the slogan of ‘The world will never forget Zayed'. Captain Abdulaziz said that some international balloon teams confirmed their participation in the balloon fiesta, which is scheduled to be organised in the UAE in November.
As for the coming participation of the UAE balloon team, Captain Abdulaziz said that there are many balloon festivals in which the team will participate, such as the International Balloons Competition, which will be held in South Africa in May, Croatia Balloons Fiesta in July, Poland Balloons Competition in August, Canada Balloon Competition in August, Russia Mineral Water Competition for Balloons in September, and the World Championship for Balloons in Japan in November.
Moreover, Captain Abdulaziz added that the UAE balloon team will take part in other festivals like the South Korea Balloon Festival to be held in November, and the Europe Cup for Balloons in September 2007 in Germany.
Locally, the team will take part in the UAE National Day in December, and the GCC Cup, which will be held in December in Abu Dhabi. The UAE balloon team will also host a General Conference for Balloons which will bring together pilots from around the world in March 2007. (Khaleej Times)
