A delegation from interior Ministry's committee tasked with file of compensation and rehabilitation of former camel jockeys is currently visiting Pakistan to inspect projects for rehabilitation and integration of those children into their local communities and improve their living conditions in coordination with the UNICEF.

These trips to Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan and Buntan followed similar tours of Bangladesh, Sudan, and Mauritania where the dossier of compensation of those children had been closed for good.

The committee will meet with senior Pakistani officials to ensure that all former camel jockeys had received their financial entitlements and tour health, educational and projects established by the UAE in these cities and other projects which to generate income for them.

Major General Nasser Al Menhali, head of the committee, said the committee would also visit families of those children to explore how these projects impact and improve their living conditions.

He affirmed that the UAE has handled the file with a high sense of humanity, supported relevant projects and after all honoured its commitments under its agreement with UNICEF. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
