President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received a message from Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi dealing with the latest developments in the Horn of Africa, with emphasis on the situation in Somalia.

The message was handed to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammed Hussein Al Shaali as he received visiting Ethiopian Minister of Culture and Tourism Mahmoud Ahmed Jaz yesterday. The Ethiopian Minister communicated his country's view on the current war in Somalia.

Al Shaali voiced the UAE's concern over the ongoing war, the lost of human life and spread of the scope of war. He urged the Ethiopian government to put an end to the war and the need for withdrawal of foreign troops from Somalia. He also called on neighbouring countries to push for national reconciliation between the Somali factions. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
