Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Education, affirmed yesterday the UAE would follow the sound policy drawn by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to remain an oasis for peace and stability. He said that defence and trade exhibitions hosted by the UAE 'are advancing peaceful and defensive purposes and helping participants to narrow differences through dialogue and interaction.

Speaking during a meeting with an audience of top military commanders including defence ministers of Syria and South Korea as well as chiefs of staff of armed forces in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait, Sheikh Nahyan added the high profile exhibitions organised by the UAE had earned it a reputed place in the global exhibition industry. 'These events act as a true mirror for showing the world the staggering progress made by the UAE in all walks of life. They also attract tourists to the country,' he added. The guests said that the good organisation of the event had underlined the UAE's leading position in this industry. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
