Islamabad - The 45th plane of relief goods from the United Arab Emirates arrived in the Chaklala military air base on Tuesday, the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Mohammad Al-Shamsi said. With the arrival of another plane, the total relief supplies from UAE reached 2,600 tonnes, the Ambassador said. The relief goods include tents, blanket and food items.

On the other hand, the eleventh aircraft of 40-tonne of relief goods from the UAE Red Crescent Society arrived on Tuesday at Chaklala air base. The relief supplies have been gifted by the UAE Scout Association. The supplies include milk, flour, sugar, rice, edible oil and warm clothes.

The head of the RCS mission in Pakistan Saeed bin Khadem Al-Mansouri said the humanitarian supplies will be distributed with the cooperation of the concerned authorities and Pakistan Red Crescent Society in Muzaffarabad.

The RCS is struggling to provide tents and food supplies to thousands of homeless people living under the open sky having no shelter and threatened by the coming winter. Meanwhile individuals and businessmen from UAE have so far sent 12 planes of relief goods through Emirates commercial flight. They have contributed 1000 tonnes of relief goods.
