BEIRUT: Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) on Tuesday distributed humanitarian aid to more than 2000 refugee families in Lebanon's northern district of Akkar.

The beneficiary families are among those affected by the snow storm which struck Lebanon recently. They received food supplies, mattresses, blankets, and warm clothes for all ages from the UAE humanitarian agency which will continue the effort to help more refugee families across Lebanon.

The UAE Embassy in Beirut supervised the effort as part of ERC's implementation of the second phase of the UAE's humanitarian campaign Trahamu (meaning show compassion in Arabic).

The refugee families thanked the UAE leadership, government and people and ERC for the generous gesture. They noted that the UAE plays a remarkable role in supporting the most underprivileged people across the world. – Emirates News Agency, WAM –
