The Umm al-Qaiwain Charity Organisation donated yesterday to the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, a large amount of food items for distribution to the victims of the Tsunami disaster which hit several South East Asian countries killing hundreds of thousands of people and making millions of others homeless. The items include 40 tonnes of food items and 4000 cartons of mineral water.

The assistance was in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm al Qaiwain and the follow up of Sheikh Marwan bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of both the Umm Al Qaiwain Department of Lands and Properties and the Umm al Qaiwain Charity Organisation. Sheikh Marwan lauded the efforts of the RCS in reaching out to people in distress in every part of the world. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
