In a meeting here today Shah Mohammed Ghazi, the UNDP Coordinator, discussed with Abdullah Al Mahamoud, the Project Director at the Red Crescent Society (RCS), joint cooperation and coordination and effective means to alleviate suffering of the Afghan people. Ghazi expressed gratitude over RCS role in helping Afghan refugees return to their home country through a humanitarian programme carried out by its office in Kabul.”

Over 1.7 million Afghan returnees are in need of essential services,” the UN official said. Both the UAE and UNDP have agreed to implement a number of projects such as repair and maintenance of houses.
