Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended on Monday the graduation ceremony of the 36th batch of cadet officers at the Zayed II Military College.
Sheikh Mohammed congratulated President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the graduation, adding that the Zayed Military College has become an institution, known for graduating skilled and educated cadres. He expressed his pride on the graduation of the 36th batch, who represent the generation of the Union and its sustainability, especially seeing as the ceremony coincided with the UAE's 40th anniversary.
The commander of the college pointed out, "I'm confident that they are the future leaders of their armed forces and will bear national responsibilities with efficiency and loyalty.”
He thanked Sheikh Khalifa for his continuous unlimited support to the Zayed Military College and also expressed his appreciation to the Vice President for his sponsorship of the graduation ceremony.
The commander of the college also commended the follow up by General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and his provision of material and moral support to this national institution, which has become one of the most prestigious military colleges in the region as well as globally.
He congratulated the graduates, urging them to be prepared to contribute to building of the Armed Forces. The graduates include a number of Arab youth from Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Jordan and Yemen and have received military practical training and have undertaken theoretical studies during their time at the college.
Sheikh Mohammed honoured the Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces and nine distinguished graduates, congratulating them on their outstanding performances.
After the ceremony, he received the Arab and foreign guests and greeted senior Armed Forces officers and posed for the memorial photo with the graduates, military commanders and a number of senior officials.
Present at the ceremony were Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Eastern Region, Sheikh Hazza Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, undersecretary of court of the Ruler's Representative in Eastern Region, Staff Lt. General Obaid Mohammed Abdullah Al Ka'abi, undersecretary of the ministry of defence, Staff Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, chief of staff of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as other senior officials. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
