WAM wins best media coverage award

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) has won the best media coverage award of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX-2003), which concluded its sessions last Thursday. In a special ceremony held at the Armed Officers Club by the General Exhibitions Corporation, IDEX organizers, in honour of delegates and companies participating in the 5-day event, WAM was given a shield of excellence in appreciation of its best reporting services it rendered throughout the tenure of the exhibition. The U.S.A bagged the prize for the largest national pavilion in terms of size, Russia for the biggest number of companies in a single national pavilion, Germany for the best arranged national pavilion and Britain for the best innovative interior design of a single company stall in a pavilion. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) won the biggest Arab participation award in terms of the largest interior display area, with Al Masoud & Sons Company bagging the prize of the largest exterior area of an Arab exhibitor.
