The Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD) has announced that it has concluded a meeting with top government executives from the State of Washington and the City of Tacoma as part of the emersion activities of its Young Leaders Program participants, who are in the final leg of their international educational tour in Seattle, USA.

Local executives led by the Mayor of Tacoma Bill Baarsma discussed the city's economic strategies and policies, methods in decision making and its vital role in the economic progress of the state of Washington and the US West Coast in general being a successful port city and industrial centre.

Led by Adel Al Shared, Director of MBRPLD, the delegates also visited the Russell Foundation for Investment where the hosts conducted a presentation on key investment topics, including Dubai's own investment initiatives and its place in the global investment arena.

A lunch meeting was also held with several business leaders and government executives, while the Governor of Washington Christine Gregoire hosted a special welcoming ceremony for the delegation representing the program. The program delegates also had intellectual discussions with a group of researchers as well as with the President of the University of Washington Stevens Sand Bourn, exploring topics that include modern technological advances, environmental protection, growth opportunities, and how all these relate to the candidates' future roles as leaders of Dubai and the UAE.

"The high-level discussions with experienced government officials and investment experts have been invaluable in reinforcing the leadership skills, strategic flair and knowledge of the candidates. Their exposure to the styles and techniques of prominent personalities will help broaden their perspective on leadership, which is vital in making them effective future leaders of a global city such as Dubai," said Adel Al Shared, MBRPLD Director and Executive Council Director of National's Development. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
