We have one vision and one goal: Vice President

The Akhbar Al Sa'ah bulletin issued by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, in an editorial on Saturday, quoted the assertion of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, that, "We, all in the UAE, have one direction, one vision and one goal and everyone is working for the interests of the country and upholding its will.”

Sheikh Mohammed, during his meeting with a group of 100 young men and women from "Government Excellence Programmes” team at Za'abeel Palace, addressed the conscience of the nation and highlighted the cohesion and unity which were connecting members of the UAE society in various sectors — no matter how different the region or the emirate in which they live.

He also said the Emiratis were standing shoulder to shoulder in addressing the challenges and difficulties, and they were working together for the elevation and progress of this nation.

The meeting, which brought Sheikh Mohammed together with this group of young people representing 43 authorities and government institutions, comes as part of the events the UAE is keen to organise to establish a set of values as confirmed by Sheikh Mohammed.

The editorial elaborated that on the top, the first value was establishing the concept of government and institutional excellence and making it the approach and framework, as government excellence was a key and strategic tributary for excellence in all business sectors in the UAE.

The second was establishing the concept of integration between the federal government institutions and local institutions and that there was no difference between what was local and what was federal, between one emirate and another, but everyone complemented each other and worked together in harmony and coordination.

The third was making the culture of excellence a national choice in the UAE society as Sheikh Mohammed had expressed it in a few words by asserting that "Excellence has become a fundamental approach and way of life we live every day, in order to achieve ‘Vision 2021'... It is a vision that represents a quantum task on the road to comprehensive and sustainable development.”

The fourth was absolute faith in the important role of young people in the progress and development, which the community sought to realise as Sheikh Mohammed said, "I am delighted to meet such forward-thinking Emirati young men and women who strive to see our beloved country attain a leading position among world countries. I, and my brother UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan thank you for the tremendous work you are doing.” – Emirates News Agency, WAM
