Many well-known Arab artists are in Dubai for the 'Arabian Canvas', an art exhibition being held alongside Dubai 2003, which will remain open till September 25. The organisers feel this is an ideal time to show a new aspect of the Arab world to the visitors and delegates who will be here for the Annual Meetings of Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund. International Arab artists, many of whom do not live in the region, are pleased to contribute in the area's efforts to portray the Middle East's multi-faceted nature. Ibrahim Belselah, General Coordinator, Dubai 2003 said: "We aim to introduce the delegates to the Annual Meetings to every aspect of life in the Arab world, and our art and culture is in the forefront. "This exhibition is one of the largest in Dubai, with several major artists displaying their works. We have not had a difficult task in finding international Arab artists as they are plentiful and respected in the world's art community." (The Gulf News)
