Yemen has lauded the instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on dispatching urgent relief aid to those affected in the recent incidents in the northern Yemeni provinces.

It reiterated that the move further boosts humanitarian initiatives of Sheikh Khalifa towards the Yemeni people, adding that such stances ease lives of the needy people.

Yemen said in person of its Ambassador to UAE Abdullah Hussein Al Dafaei that Yemen appreciates the support of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to boost the efforts of development in Yemen and meet the humanitarian needs as well. The Yemeni official also extended the regards of his country to HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA), on the sustained efforts of the RCA in Yemen to alleviate the suffering of victims of calamities and crises.

The remarks were made during the visit of the Yemeni envoy yesterday to the RCA headquarters, where he was received by Ahmed Humaid Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board in presence of RCA senior officials.

On his part, Al Mazrouei said the RCA was keen on its programmes and charity projects in Yemen in line with its humanitarian obligations towards brothers in Yemen and depth of relations between the two peoples.

The cost of humanitarian and developmental programmes implemented by the RCA in Yemen from 1994 to date stood at over Dh144.6million. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
