The Abu Dhabi-based Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works has bagged two certificates for best practices in improving the living environment from the 2004 edition of Dubai International Award for Best Practices.

The awards were given in recognition of the Foundation's programmes of the relocation of Bosnian refugees and Zayed Springs for well drilling in Africa. A jury of 13 international experts has selected the Zayed Foundation's programmes from among 650 participants from 140 countries. The Dubai International Award for Best Practices is an environmental prize, which is presented biennially.

Established in 1995 by the Dubai government, the Award is given to recognise and enhance awareness of outstanding and sustainable achievements in improving the living environment as per the criteria established by the Second United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II) and the Dubai Declaration.
