The Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation will spare no effort to boost partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organisations under a strategy adopted by the government of Abu Dhabi for sustainable development even in charitable and humanitarian operations, it director general has affirmed.

'We are currently mulling strings of partnership initiatives with private sector firms under this strategy in order to enhance objectives of the Foundation and broaden scope of its work in the coming period,' Salim bin Obeid Al Dhahiri told the Emirates News Agency (WAM). 'Since the Foundation was formed, we have executed humanitarian operations with private companies inside and outside the country in the tune of Dh12 million, "he added.

'We have great hopes that private sector firms in all the UAE would respond positively to our humanitarian programmes as part of Abu Dhabi government strategy which calls for creating more opportunities for greater public-private partnership,' he said. 'Our agenda in the next stage will focus on explaining to the private sector our proposed local and foreign humanitarian and sustainable development initiatives in education and health which target the underprivileged persons especially people with special needs and orphans, "he indicated. These programmes, he added, would also feature exchange of international best practices and proposals for improving services. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
