CAIRO, 12th October, 2016 (WAM) -- The Zayed Giving Initiative, ZGI, has announced a new humanitarian initiative to reduce the prevalence of chronic diseases among children and the elderly in Egyptian villages through the adoption of programmes for early detection of chronic diseases.

The initiative is being overseen by senior Emirati, Saudi, Egyptian and international doctors, in partnership with the Saudi German Hospital, the Dar Al Ber Society, UAE Centre for Volunteering and the Arab Association for Humanitarian Work.

The initiative aims to increase community awareness of chronic diseases and the best methods of diagnosis and treatment, thus contributing significantly in reducing the spread of these diseases.

Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of Zayed Giving Initiative and Executive Director of the Mobile Hospital, said that the campaign will be carried out in various Arab and African countries where chronic diseases have reached advanced stages as they are the main causes of death and disabilities in most of these countries.
